About our founder
Michael Pat
In the world of French floral artistry, where heritage meets contemporary expression, Michael Pat stands as one of Asia’s youngest and most influential figures. Based in Hong Kong and Macau, he is an internationally recognized floral designer, educator, and institutional leader, known for bridging French haute craftsmanship with a modern Asian perspective. Michael began his professional formation in France at the age of eighteen, undertaking rigorous training under multiple MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) masters within the highest level of the French professional craftsmanship system. Immersed in the discipline of classical French floristry, he developed a foundation defined by precision, structure, and artistic rigor. In 2014, he completed an advanced-level French floral diploma program within a formal national professional evaluation framework, graduating at the top of his cohort and becoming one of the youngest practitioners to reach this level of professional distinction. His excellence soon translated to the international competitive stage. He was a Top 10 finalist at the World Floral Design Championship in Tours (2016), and in 2017, at just 23 years old, became the youngest competitor to enter the Top 4. In 2025, he was awarded International Champion at the Palladium Flower Cup in France, also securing Overall Second Place, affirming his standing among the global elite of contemporary floral design. Beyond competition, Michael Pat’s influence lies in institutional development and education. He is the founder of LPV, GP, and HANA, platforms dedicated not to short-term training, but to structured professional education and institutional development. Through these institutions, he has trained and mentored over 4,000 students across Hong Kong and Macau, establishing rigorous pathways that emphasize methodology, aesthetic literacy, and evaluative discipline. In 2025, Michael Pat was officially appointed: Principal, ASAF® Asia Campus In this capacity, he is responsible for the academic governance, implementation, and regional development of the ASAF® Diplôme Supérieur de l’Art Floral across Asia. His professional practice extends into the luxury, academic, and public sectors. Maison houses including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, and Cartier have commissioned him both as a designer and educator. He has served as a consultant for Sofitel Macau, lectured at the University of Macau, and collaborated with governmental and cultural institutions, integrating floral artistry into broader civic and cultural frameworks. For Michael Pat, floral design is not decoration, but language — a medium through which culture, identity, and transformation are articulated. His work has become central to the professionalization and institutionalization of French floral artistry in the Asian context. Today, he is widely regarded as an indispensable institutional authority in the development of French floral education in Asia.
